Additionally, diseases such as chlamydia and the koala retrovirus further threaten their health and reproduction.

To help koalas thrive, urgent action is needed. Conservation efforts must focus on preserving and restoring their habitats, planting native eucalyptus trees, which are essential for their diet and shelter. Moreover, initiatives to mitigate climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions are crucial for safeguarding the koala’s future, as well as implementing measures to prevent and treat diseases within koala populations.
